Hello everyone! This is my first blog post on WordPress and I thought I would share a little bit about myself.
I’m a disabled/retired woman who loves to create Gourd Art. I also love Mixed Media so Gourd Art is perfect for me to work in because I can use so many different mediums. I’m always trying something new when working with gourds, which is good most of the time. I try to learn more techniques as often as I can and take at least one class a year in a different technique. Here is a picture of one of my latest pieces, which is a lampshade:
I stepped out of the box a little bit on this one, but it was well worth it. I wood burned, carved, and inked and it really looks beautiful.
I have a studio at my house now that I work in that my husband and sons built for me. I’ve started teaching some small classes there now and so far so good.
I hope that you will follow along with me on my journeys because I do enjoy other types of Art and plan on sharing some of it with you in the future.
This page will have some changes too in the future, but this the start of the rest of my journey.
